Feature: The most affordable Breitling watches

Synonymous with aviation watches, Breitling famously makes the Navitimer—so good that it was once chosen by the Aircraft Owners and Pilot’s Association (AOPA) as its official timepiece.

While many Navitimers—either due to rarity or because they’re made from precious metal—are found at the upper end of the Breitling price spectrum, some are far more affordable. And if you’re willing to look beyond this legendary series, there are other, more entry-level Breitling collections to consider.

Whether you’re seeking a watch for the cockpit or the coral reefs, we’ve rounded up several Breitlings—past and present—that offer great value.

Professional Endurance Pro 38

If you’re buying brand-new from an official Breitling boutique or authorised dealer, the most affordable Breitling watch is currently the Endurance Pro. This quartz-powered chronograph is made from Breitlight, a composite lightweight material that’s scratch-resistant, strong, and boasts a mottled appearance similar to forged carbon fibre. While not a watch that screams refined luxury, it’s got a modern sporty aesthetic and can be worn pretty much anywhere, whether you’re whitewater rafting or wild camping. The 38mm version costs £2,850.

Top Time

Launched in 2025, this 38mm Top Time model boasts a dial as crisp as freshly laundered linen, ringed by a sky-blue minute track that really makes it pop on the wrist. Applied baton indices are matched by the simple hands, with a magnified date window at 3 o’clock. The copper-coloured Breitling ‘B’ logo and red seconds hand add a touch of finesse. Flip it over, and through the open caseback you’ll see the attractive Breitling B31 movement, which has a hollowed out winding rotor and cotes de Geneve striping. It’s paired with a perforated tan racing strap for a retro touch. It's current RRP is £4,550.

SuperOcean Heritage Automatic 36

Yes, Breitling is famous for its strong aviation heritage, and it even managed to reach space before Omega. But it certainly wasn’t late to the game when it comes to diving watches. Its SuperOcean line began in the 1950s, the same era as Rolex’s Submariner and Omega’s Seamaster 300. The most affordable dive watch in the current Breitling line-up is the 36mm SuperOcean Heritage, priced £4,400. With an un-numbered bezel, a discreet date window at 6 o’clock and slim dagger-shaped hour markers, it boasts handsome minimalist looks. Water resistance is a respectable 200 metres.

Navitimer B01 Chronograph

If you’re intent on buying Breitling’s most talismanic watch, and nothing else will scratch that itch, then the B01, available in case sizes of 41, 43 or 46, might already be in your sights. This features the Navitimer’s conventional monochrome design—three white chronograph registers on a black dial—ringed by a white tachymeter scale, although other colour combinations are available. But while the B01 is the most affordable Navitimer straight out of the box, it’s still priced at £7,750. Icons don’t come cheap.

Vintage and discontinued models worth considering…

Headwind

The discontinued Headwind never got the credit it deserved. Here was a watch that offered the complications and looks of a Rolex Day-Date (albeit in stainless steel), as well as a huge water resistance of 500 metres. Throw in a self-winding chronometer movement, too, and you’ve got a superb value proposition. Expect to pay between £2,500 to £3,000 for a pre-owned model on a five-link bracelet.

Avenger Seawolf

Unapologetically big and with bold military-style numerals, the Avenger Seawolf is a watch that looks like it should be worn by the cast of The Expendables. So, no, don’t expect to squeeze it under a shirt cuff any time soon. But for around £2,000 pre-owned, this eye-catching 45mm chunk of stainless steel with a whopping water resistance of 3,000 metres is an enticing purchase for any Breitling fan.

SuperOcean II

Breitling has rarely put a foot wrong in updating its SuperOcean family. Since the 1950s, pretty much every new generation has come with a dynamic new look that’s of its time, while the specs haven’t disappointed either. COSC-rated movements and a water resistance of 1,500 metres have made it more than a worthy rival to the Submariner. The discontinued reference A17364 was produced throughout the 2010s, and its design still looks fresh today. Starting price pre-owned is currently around £2,500.
